Transfering my domain name to Get Green

If you would like to keep your existing registrar and simply have us host your domain name, sign up with the existing domain name option.

There is no additional fee on top of your hosting fees for this option. We provide the DNS info upon account activation.

Once you change the DNS with your registrar, propagation takes up to 72 hours. Your site will resolve to your old host while this is happening and suddenly resolve to your Virtual Architects account when it's complete.

Lunarpages can become the registrar for co.za, .com, .net, .org, .biz, and .info domains. Please email support@getgreen.co.za to transfer the domain to us as registrar or use the Transfer Function on the Virtual Architects Hosting website.

Transferring a domain to Get Green has a one time R200.00 fee (this includes a further 1 year registration) for any domain apart from .co.za, which is free.

If you have not used your Free Domain for one year offer, there would be no charge to renew the domain for one year, then it will renew at regular cost.

If you have already used your One Year Free domain, then there will be an additional charge depending on the type of domain selected for one year of domain registration, and the domain will renew each year thereafter for the current domain registration price at that time.

Please be sure you have access to the registered admin email address for the domain to approve the transfer and be sure the domain is Active or OK. We cannot transfer a domain with a status of Registrar-Hold or Registrar-Lock. Your registrar may be able to unlock it for you.

A transfer can take up to a week, and the request can be denied by the current registrar with no reason given.

**If your transfer request is denied by your current registrar, the R200.00 transfer fee will not be charged to you.
